This is beautiful. And on the topic of sleepovers and kids getting stuck in uncomfortable situations: My mom and I had a code, ever since my first sleepover. I would always call home to say goodnight, and if I asked “How is the cat doing?”, it meant that I wasn’t comfortable and I wanted her to pick me up. I did use this code a few times, and whenever I did, my mom came up with the excuses for me. I was never stuck at a sleepover I didn’t want to be at - and as a child with anxiety and social phobia, this was a great system.

posts like these are the reason i love tumblr

Once, I was at a friend’s birthday party, and they began to play strip poker and 7 minutes in heaven and immature stuff like that. I am the biggest virgin that you’ve ever known, so I pretended like my phone was vibrating, punched in my mom’s speed dial, and when she answered, I said “Hey mom, whatcha need? *Pause* oh, okay. So I have to come home now? Yeah, sorry, I’ll clean my room right when I get there. *pause* ten minutes? Okay, that works. See ya.” and she understood exactly what I wanted, and she came and picked me up, and even scolded me in front of my friends for ‘not cleaning my room’. I’ve used this so many times, it isn’t funny. My mom is so understanding each time.

And now I must hug my mother and post 5 million mom appreciation posts.

(hugs this)

"Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus in Gladiator was certainly an inspiration for my characterization of Joffrey, that had a big impact, the smirk. It’s interesting sometimes  when an audience can empathize with a villain. But to get completely lost in it, it’s exciting just to be intrinsically evil and not to have a speck of good or humanity in their bones."- Jack Gleeson  (x)

This is potentially life saving information everyone should know.

No you guys this post helped me find my cat. He was missing for almost a month and I’ve had him for over 12 years. After seeing this I put his favorite blanket he always slept on outside hoping he would smell mine or his scent and he was back the next fucking day asleep on it.

When my cat got out, we called and called for him, and then, later that night, I remembered similar advice to this, and so put his little scratching pad, which he adores, on the front porch. Not even half an hour later, I heard a thump, opened the door, and there was his big butt, meowing at me.

Important and vital

Police officers in Ferguson, Missouri, have begun wearing body cameras after weeks of unrest over the shooting death of an unarmed black teen by a white officer and sharply differing accounts of the incident, officials said on Sunday.

Michael Brown, 18, was shot multiple times by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9, sparking nearly three weeks of angry protests in the St. Louis suburb and drawing global attention to race relations in the United States.

Law enforcement and witnesses gave differing accounts of what transpired before Brown was shot, with police saying the teen had struggled with the officer. Witnesses say Brown held up his hands and was surrendering when he was shot multiple times in the head and chest.

The discrepancy has revived calls for officers across the county to be outfitted with body cameras to help capture an accurate record of police-involved incidents.

*I* post my most private photos. And if I didn't want naked photos of myself online, I wouldn't take them or let others take and keep them. If someone doesn't want their pictures out there, then they shouldn't trust others with them... *especially* being a celebrity. Now shuffle off back to your fandoms and hipster photos with filters, little girl.

First of all, she didn’t trust the wrong person. She was hacked. And even if she did trust the wrong person, that doesn’t warrant the right for someone to take someone else’s private photos without their consent

When you post your photos, it’s by your consent. Thats different. And by telling people that they should just not “take them or let others keep them” doesn’t solve the problem. It just teaches girls that when things like this happen, it’s their fault, not the person who took the photos and posted them. It’s the same way girls are taught not to dress a certain way because it could warrant sexual harassment. And if they are harassed, its their fault. It’s victim blaming. And its wrong.

Also, i’m a twenty year old college student who in my breaks from the “fandoms and hipster photos with filters” like to defend woman who have been violated and dehumanized by our society. Thanks.

Jlaw had the photos taken of herself nude. She is responsible for that & for posting them. She could have deleted them. Big deal. She’s busted for not being jlaw perfect? Finally! What a relief!

are you fucking kidding me? first of all, there’s nothing wrong with taking a naked photo of herself. secondly, she did not POST those pictures. Just because someone else took those photos, doesn’t mean that she agrees to have them spread all over the internet. it’s called an invasion of privacy and a sex crime. She shouldn’t have to take precautions so that someone will HACK into her phone and steal all her photos.
